Backstreet’s back — for two minutes, at least. The Backstreet Grandpas Backstreet Boys briefly reunited on the goodbye episode of MTV’s TRL, which aired its two-hour finale last night. A fitting tribute, as the show made the band a hugely successful enterprise for the last 15. MTV is expected to change its name to “Crappy Reality Game Show Television” shortly.

Backstreet hasn’t broken up ever. They’ve been touring for the last year and have had two albums out in the last three years. They’re about to go back in studio for yet another album.

“She knows”? Bad name for this blog. She knows nothing sounds more accurate.

Wow we just read this and we really only have a few things to say….
1: Whoever wrote this needs to find out more info before hand… as Nicole is smart in noticing that the guys have NEVER broke up and have been touring and making albums. (you kick ass Nicole)
2: I don’t think you could even begin calling it a true reuniting unless KEVIN was there and he wasn’t…. (Wait did she forget that he left to do his own thing and raise a family???) Remember 5 Backstreet Boys started out on Mtv as now there is only 4….
3: Backstreet Grandpas… Well that was umm new now wasn’t it…. So I don’t recall anyone making fun of the Beach Boys getting old and keeping the same name…. but hey Backstreet Boys are pop music right…. (umm so aint the Beach Boys) but whatever….
4: Please do us all a favor and learn a few things before you start writing anything you are gonna post for others to see…

Isn’t it amusing that these pre-fab little pop acts have the most rabid fans? Perhaps if people got this worked up over things that actually matter, like the fact that unemployment rates are set to top 7% by May, and the failing auto industry is about to send our economy into a deeper tailspin, while the war mamachine continues to pump billions of dollars towards killing innocent civilians on the other side of the world and people like these guys who can barely sing rake in millions of dollars - and your family is about to lose your home. Nicole and Heckle, Spend a little more time on things that matter and less on defending some crappy pop band and I guarantee your life will be better for it. Start by reading a book. Anything by Kurt Vonnegut will suffice.

Slaughterhouse Five? Or maybe Sirens of Titan? Been there, read that in college. Oh and yes, have a job, paying taxes, and doing my best to keep my head above climbing bills. But I still love my Backstreet Boys and always will. This is a blogsite about pop culture and as such, writers and commenters alike are talking about trite culture. You never know that the same people aren’t the next minute off doing surgery or delivering babies!
