Will someone please tell us this isn’t just on the borderline of being kooky?
Super-hunk Matthew McConaughey kept the placenta from the birth of his son last month. Yes, keep reading it only gets better.
He wants to, get this, plant it in an orchard. He dishes to CNN in an interview which aired on House Call with Dr. Sanjay Gupta.
You thought naked bongos was an interesting fact about this guy. You know what? We still love him!

The fun little passive-aggressive tug-of-war between Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood continues…When we last left off, Jessica was seen parading around town wearing a tee shirt that said “Real girls eat meat” — a direct snub to Underwood, an avowed vegetarian.
In the September issue of Allure, Underwood stings Jess back with the revelation that her ex — and Jess’s current love — Tony Romo still calls her.
“We were both small-town people doing very big things, and we relied on each other, dealing with fame. I don’t know. The phone will ring and it’ll be him, and I’ll maybe not answer,” she said.
Meanwhile, Jessica’s attempts to snag her own country singing career are being mostly ignored.

Mrs. Tom Cruise got her butt on a plane to LA yesterday from NYC, where she is rehearsing for her Broadway debut, to make sure she played her supportive robo-wife role at the Tropic Thunder premier (hubby has a small, but we hilarious, part).
All last we were seeing Katie Holmes walking the New York sidewalks in a pair of ratty old pegged jeans. Yes, I said pegged. 90’s high school much? She says they belonged to Tom, but they were much too long to be his — they were long enough for Katie to roll up, and she’s at least three inches taller than him. Anyway, I digress.
What do we think of the new haircut? Is it adorable? Or is she slowly becoming a taller version of her husband?

Russell Brand is hosting this year’s VMAs, and MTV decided that Britney Spears would be the perfect person to prep him for his appearance, as she has had so many memorable times on the awards show herself.
Spectacular non-so-subtle symbolism with the giant elephant in the room, by the way. What is it they’re not talking about, again?

Although the opening ceremonies were lavish and impressive, a dark cloud hung over the Olympic Games’ opening in Beijing.
Our hearts go out to the families impacted by the tragedy on Saturday. During the first day of the Olympics, a Chinese man attacked two relatives of a coach for the US Olympic men’s volleyball team at a tourist site. He killed one and injured the other and then the assailant committed suicide.
It was considered even more tragic since the brutal attack in pure daylight happened in an extremely tight Beijing with heightened security measures (or so we thought).

So if you’re like us you totally checked out the Brangelina pics in this week’s issue of People. Check that, this week’s issue which shelled out a whopping $14 million to the tune of Vivienne and Knox’s debut photos.
If you’re like us, you may have questioned the adorable little grin on Vivienne’s newborn faces.
That’s right, the little grin was photoshopped! (Gasp!) According to experts, it’s a well known fact that babies don’t smile from exterior stimulation until they’re two to four months old.
Gotcha!

“High School Musical” cutie Vanessa Hudgens hit up The Mall of America recently and did a round of press interviews while she was there. Let’s just say Minnesota journalism isn’t exactly “Meet the Press” — but she’s in “High School Musical” not “Hamlet.” Perhaps a sense of humor is in order?
