Heidi and Spencer elope! But is it fake?

The Hills brats Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt have long been a couple — and now they’ve tied the knot! The couple eloped in Mexico last week.

“The minute we said our vows, I couldn’t stop crying,” Heidi told Us Weekly.

The couple wed at the One&Only Palmilla Resort, just outside of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The ceremony was unplanned, so say the couple — but this is highly suspect, considering that there is a waiting period of two to three days in the country, depending on the state, after your marriage license is issued, and it generally takes three working days to process the paperwork when you apply for that license.

Interestingly, according to the info I was able to dig up, a marriage in Mexico is only legal if the ceremony is performed at a Civil Register Office. Unless Heidi and Spencer took care of this formality before their beach ceremony, it ain’t legal! Nice photo opp for the couple, though.
