George Clooney ENGAGED?!

That’s the chatter in Lake Como, Italy, the resort town in Northern Italy where Clooney has a villa. Marie Claire UK reports that the self-professed marriage shy playboy actor is finally ready to settle down with girlfriend, Sarah Larson.

According to the report, a restaurant employee in Laglio, a small town on the coast of Lake Como, ‘They haven’t made any announcement yet, but there are people in this town who know more than me. They say the couple are already engaged.’

Clooney’s rep denies the account, “there is no truth to any element of this story,” but one has to wonder if this story is simply premature. George’s whirlwind romance with Larson has quickly turned into a serious relationship, which may very well lead to a walk down the aisle.

George met Sarah on June 7, 2007 at a party for the cast of Ocean’s 13, at Moon nightclub in the Palms Resort and Casino after the film’s Las Vegas premiere. Larson was a cocktail waitress at the nightclub, earning upwards of $200,000 a year, and that night, she served George’s table. Clooney, 46, was so smitten by Sarah,28, that first evening, that he found the manager of the club and persuaded him to let Sarah leave work early so that she could spend time with him.

Larson has since quit her job and has enjoyed international holidays with George in Lake Como, Dubai, Miami and Venice. The couple recently made headlines by walking the red carpet hand-in-hand at the Oscars. Clooney, an Academy Award winner, had never invited a date to walk the red carpet with him.

Wedding bells may not be officially ringing just yet, but I won’t be surprised when they do.
