Katie Holmes was enjoying a quick gasp of freedom in New York, alone with robo Suri while rehearsing for her stint on Broadway’s My Three Sons — until hubby Tom Cruise decided he had better get to the Right Coast posthaste to make sure she didn’t hop on a slow boat to sanity.
Tom even walked Katie to work yesterday. Looks like she gave him his jeans back.

The bizarre romance between Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer has come to an end. Jen kicked him to the curb after she found out he couldn’t keep his much-discussed business in his pants.
“It was Jen who decided to move on,” said a friend. “She is very fond of John and has thought he might be the one. She finds him funny, sexy and very talented… Plus he understands all the aspects of living in a fishbowl. But in the final analysis, she just got tired of his roving eye.”
Jen apparently got wind of him hooking up with a cocktail waitress and a promoter’s assistant.
They were a weird couple, anyway. I dig John Mayer, but he looks like he doesn’t shower enough, and Jen is so squeaky-clean. I bet her hair smells like strawberries — really expensive, organic strawberries.

So if you’re like us you totally checked out the Brangelina pics in this week’s issue of People. Check that, this week’s issue which shelled out a whopping $14 million to the tune of Vivienne and Knox’s debut photos.
If you’re like us, you may have questioned the adorable little grin on Vivienne’s newborn faces.
That’s right, the little grin was photoshopped! (Gasp!) According to experts, it’s a well known fact that babies don’t smile from exterior stimulation until they’re two to four months old.

People magazine will debut pics of the twins this weekend, for a reported price of $15 million — a payout they are sharing with Hello! for European rights. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie say they will use the cash to support their charitable causes.

Sources say that Pete Wentz wants to ask John Mayer to be the godfather of his yet-to-be-born baby, said to be a girl, with Ashlee Simpson. Wentz and Mayer are great friends, but how will Ashlee’s sister Jessica, John’s ex, feel about the sitch?
A friend says, “Pete and John have been spending a lot of time together lately and they get on so well. They are firm friends. John gets a bad rap and is always portrayed as a bad boy but he’s got a heart of gold. Pete and Ashlee know that and they think he would make a great godparent. But they are holding back asking him at the moment because they are not sure how Ashlee’s sister Jessica would feel about her ex having such a strong link to her new niece.”

We’re still recovering from the news of Shia LaBeouf’s DUI car accident. Say it isn’t so!
OK, we’re in denial that one of our favorite, grounded and articulate stars was arrested for drunk driving after being in a car crash. But the word out of Los Angeles today is that although Shia LaBeouf was charged with drunk driving, the accident in question was caused by the other driver when they ran a red light and slammed into Shia’s car.
The twenty-two year-old was involved in a collision at the wee hours in Hollywood earlier this week. There were injuries to his head, left hand and knee. Shia LaBeouf is recovering from surgery and plans to return to the set of his current movie, “Transformers 2,” within a month.
We send our best wishes to the LaBeoufmeister for a speedy recovery!

Actor Patrick Swayze was spotted at LAX looking surprisingly well for someone suffering from a particularly nasty bout of pancreatic cancer. When the paps asked about his prognosis, Swayze said, “I’m cookin’. I’m a miracle dude! I don’t know why.”
Patrick was spotted at LAX on his way to Chicago to begin filming his new TV show “The Beast.”
